RIT Ambulance

Star of Life

If you have an emergency, dial 911 from any phone.

RIT Ambulance is a community run Emergency Medical Services (EMS) volunteer organization which responds to the medical needs of the RIT community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. RIT Ambulance is composed of students, staff, and alumni. RIT Ambulance operates a New York State Certified Basic Life Support ambulance and a Basic Life Support first response / command vehicle. In addition, RIT Ambulance provides standbys as requested for concerts, sporting events, and other social gatherings on the RIT campus.

RIT Ambulance doesn't charge patients for medical services, supplies or transport to the hospital. A patient will never receive a bill from RIT Ambulance.

Over the years, the RIT Ambulance has grown to be one of New York State's leading collegiate EMS teams. We are always looking for highly motivated volunteers to join us! If you are interested you can submit an interest form at any time. You may submit interest online or talk to our members about the benefits of joining in person. Our base is located on the A level of Building 23A, the Student Health Center, half way down the Quarter Mile.

There is no experience necessary to join our agency – we provide everything you’ll need in-house. Additional training can be coordinated through our training department as needed for certifications like EMT-Basic. You may begin training immediately as a Driver or if you are a New York State Certified Emergency Medical Technician, you may begin training as a Medic.
